? Comment from Hoang Quoc Anh

?I’m Hoang Quoc Anh, UGAS-EU PhD student in the field of Environmental Science. I have conducted studies on the contamination status, emission sources, and risk assessment of organic micro-pollutants under the supervision of Prof. Shin Takahashi. Our studies focused on areas affected by rapid urbanization–industrialization processes and informal waste recycling activities in Vietnam and other developing countries.? At this conference, I presented on the contamination status, emission sources, and human health risk related to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and their methylated derivatives (PAHs and Me-PAHs) in road dust from Vietnam. These pollutants are of concern because of their widespread abundance and high toxicity including carcinogenicity. Unexpectedly, I was presented with an award for my oral presentation by SETAC.?My supervisor was presented with a merit award by JEC for his continuing dedication in the field of environmental chemistry focusing on persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This is an unforgettable conference for me.
