Arief Abdurrakhman, a special auditing student accepted by the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences under the SUIJI Joint Program, won the “Best Paper Award” at the 8th International Conference on Green Agro-Industry and Bioeconomy (IGGAB) 2024 held in Indonesia from October 2 (Wednesday) through October 5 (Saturday), 2024.
He gave a presentation about his paper “Prediction of Biogas Production from Agriculture Waste Biomass Based on Backpropagation Neural Network”.
Comments and overview from the award recipient
I express my highest appreciation and gratitude to Islam-sensei, UGAS, and Ehime University, who have provided me with learning and research opportunities to win this best paper award.
The paper I presented at the conference describes an effective waste management system that is very important in sustainable agriculture, and using agricultural waste in renewable energy, such as biogas, is one strategy. This study identifies critical variables that influence biogas production, especially in Indonesia. It shows that machine learning methods such as backpropagation-based neural networks can help model exact biogas predictions. The combination of multilayer perceptron and backpropagation algorithms, especially resilient backpropagation, provides a robust framework for achieving optimal results in these predictions.
